Stoney Lakeside Park is a 53-acre community gem. Located along the Grand River on Bowes Road, the park includes a 27-acre lake that offers opportunities for swimming, fishing, and non-gas powered boating. The park is bordered along the south side by the mighty Grand River.
This facilities include a beach, sand volleyball area, a small boat launch into the lake, restrooms, a recently constructed playground, two horseshoe pits, a skateboard park, and a 31,000-square-foot fenced dog park. The playground, skateboard park, and dog park were all improvements developed through community involvement for the design and construction.
The swimming beach water is tested weekly for E.coli from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Test results are posted at the park and online, and can be found below.

The dog park is located near the west end of the park. There are two sections, one for large dogs and one for smaller dogs. There is a shelter area for shade in each area, and water is available for people and their pets. The park has lights that are on at the park until 8:00pm during winter months. More information on the Lowell Dog Park can be found on their Facebook page:
The skateboard park was constructed as a community project. Over time the ramps have been rebuilt. Currently, there are fundraising activities underway to help finance an upgrade to the facility. The proposed improvements will include increasing the size of the hard surfaced area, and replacing and/or upgrading the ramps. If you would like more information on this fundraiser, and would like to make a donation towards it, please contact City Hall at 616-897-8457, or you can email the DPW Director at email@example.com.
