OF THE OPTICAL SCAN TABULATING EQUIPMENT
FOR THE FEBRUARY 28, 2012
PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION

Notice is hereby given that the public accuracy test of the Optical Scan Tabulating Equipment for the February 28, 2012 Presidential Primary Election will be conducted on Friday, February 17, 2012 at
10:00 a.m. at the Lowell City Hall, Council Chambers, Second Floor, 301 East Main Street, Lowell, Michigan.

 2012 BOARD OF REVIEW MEETING SCHEDULE

The City of Lowell Board of Review for 2012 will be held at the
Lowell City Hall, 301 E Main St, on the following dates:

Organizational Meeting: Tuesday, March 6th, 10:00am

Appeal Hearings:
Tuesday, March 13th, 3:00pm to 9:00pm
Thursday, March 15th, 12:00noon to 6:00pm

The Board of Review will meet as many more days as deemed necessary to hear questions, protests and to equalize the 2012 assessments
By City Charter, residents are able to protest by letter, provided protest letter is received prior to March 6th 2012

The tentative ratios and the estimated multipliers for each class
of real property and personal property for 2012 are as follows:

Commercial................. 52.33%............... 0.9555
Residential..................  53.23%............... 0.9393
Industrial.....................  49.34%............... 1.0134
Personal Property....... 50.00%............... 1.0000

Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Notice
The City will provide necessary reasonable services to individuals with disabilities at the Board of Review meetings upon 3 days’ notice.

PUBLIC NOITCE

The offices of Lowell City Hall, Lowell Police, Light and Power and the Department of Public Works will be closed on Monday, February 20, 2012 in observance of President’s Day.

ALSO

Due to President’s Day, the Lowell City Council meeting will be on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

NOTICE REGARDING DOGS AND CATS

Dogs or cats, when outside of the residence, must be leashed and can not run at large.

When walking your dog you must possess an appropriate device for scooping the dog excrement for disposal in a suitable receptacle.

Violation of these ordinances may result in a civil action with a penalty of up to $150 in fine.

EACH APPLICANT WILL NEED TO COMPLETE AN APPLICATION (available at City Hall or on line at www.travel.state.gov )

PASSPORT BOOK

  • Proof of Citizenship -provide a certified birth certificate; previously issued passport or Certificate of Naturalization
  • Proof of Identity – valid drivers license or State issued ID (if under 16 – both parents must provide)
  • Two passport photos – available at Meijer, Modern Photographics, Rite Aid and Walgreens
  • Application fee – Check or money order for US Dept. of State $110 or if under 16 $80
  • Execution fee – Cash, check or money order for City of Lowell $25

PASSPORT CARD (for land and sea travel between US and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and Caribbean only)

  • Proof of Citizenship -provide a certified birth certificate; previously issued passport or Certificate of Naturalization
  • Proof of Identity – valid drivers license or State issued ID (if under 16 – both parents must provide)
  • Two passport photos – available at Meijer, Modern Photographics, Rite Aid and Walgreens.
  • Application fee – Check or money order for US Dept. of State $30 or if under 16 $15
  • Execution fee – Cash, check or money order for City of Lowell $25

If both passport book and card are applied for at same time only one Execution fee is collected.

All applicants including children must appear in person when applying for a passport.  Passport applicants under 16 must have both parents present.  Please allow 6-8 weeks for processing.  Expedited services available for a fee.  Questions call 897-8457.
